The Woolgrower’s Companion

Our book club was recently approached by author Joy Rhoades. She offered to provide a book on the chance that we may like it and then subsequently discuss it at our book club.

I’m very glad I accepted her offer and I enjoyed reading The Wool Grower’s Companion. It contains strong, female characters. They are somewhat flawed but show an endearing determination to survive in often strenuous conditions in the outback. It gave me a clear glimpse of the life and landscape in 1940’s New South Wales. And I imagined the main ranch house of the story, Amiens,  very close to what Joy has posted. I”m looking forward to discussing it on September 12th.

Please check back soon for a full book review and hopefully some exclusive content from the friendly, gracious author herself!
